Realization of IPSec Protocol Based on IXP2350 Network Processor

As the incessant development of Internet, the exiting CDMA BSS system needs to utilize this open network resource to transimit IP packets, and at same time, we must make sure that the information is safe and reliable in the network transmission based on the standard IPSec protocol.Whereas the Intel IXP2350 Network Processor has the capability of high-speed transmission and the advantage of the IPSec application, this paper will introduce how to design and realize IPSec Protocol based on IXP2350 and resolves the problem of the traditional application on network security based on other processors.This thesis mainly discusses how to realize IPSec Protocol based on IXP2350 and realize the Ethernet Access platform. Firstly, this paper depicts the technologies of IPSec protocol and Network Processor and refers their background and applications, and then, makes out the problems which need to be resolved. Secondly, it introduces the framework of software and hardware of IXP2350 and discusses the parallel processing problem of Network Processor. Thirdly, it shows the system structure of IPSec protocol and the essential algorithms. Fourthly, it explains detailedly how to realize IPSec based on IXP2350 and the design flow for all software modules. This thesis mainly resolves how to make use of the high performance and bedding truss of IXP2350 to realize IPSec .At last, it puts up the academic analysis of the design and implements the test in the actual Ethernet Access environment, and analyzes the result.The result shows the predominance of IPSec protocol realization based on IXP2350 compared to other Network Processors, which has achieved the research goal.
